The terminal

Safety before speed.

At the terminal, every person, every vehicle and every container is identified and checked. That is the condition for safe operations and protected cargo.

The safety of people and the security of cargo are MCTC’s first value. The terminal applies a comprehensive framework, aligned with the international standards of the MSC/TIL group and the Congolese regulatory framework.

Security — ISPS Code

Compliance in progress [TO BE CONFIRMED]

The terminal is pursuing compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code [TO BE CONFIRMED]. In concrete terms: a fenced perimeter, controlled access points, systematic identification of persons and vehicles, surveillance of the waterside and storage areas, a port facility security plan and regular drills.

Access control

Access to the terminal is restricted to authorised persons: badge or prior authorisation, registration at the entrance, mandatory high-visibility vest and personal protective equipment. Visitors are escorted at all times. Drivers follow the marked routes and the instructions of yard personnel.

Occupational health & safety (HSE)

Strict traffic rules (speed limits, segregation of pedestrians and equipment), equipment operating permits, risk assessments before any non-standard operation, systematic near-miss reporting. Every employee holds stop-work authority: any dangerous situation halts the operation, no debate.

Targeted certifications

MCTC is targeting ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety) certification by 2027 [TO BE CONFIRMED]. The process is under way: documented procedures, tracked indicators, regular internal audits.

Cargo security

Computerised tracking of container positions, traceability of all moves, dedicated areas for refrigerated containers (48 reefer plugs [TO BE CONFIRMED]) and for units held under the authorities’ control (DGDA, OCC). Sensitive cargo is subject to reinforced arrangements.
