Ethics & compliance

Integrity is non-negotiable.

Published tariffs, written procedures, zero tolerance for corruption: MCTC applies the ethical standards of its international shareholders to every operation at the terminal.

A port terminal is a strategic crossing point where hundreds of players meet: freight forwarders, drivers, shipping agents, government agencies. Trust is built there through clear rules, applied without exception. That is the purpose of MCTC’s ethics and compliance framework, placed under the responsibility of the Legal Department.

Code of conduct

MCTC’s code of conduct applies to all employees, executives and contractors working at the terminal. It covers integrity in business relationships, the prevention of conflicts of interest, respect for people, the protection of assets and information, and compliance with Congolese law and the group’s international standards. Every employee is trained on the code upon joining. [Full document TO BE CONFIRMED — downloadable PDF to be published via the admin.]

Anti-corruption

MCTC applies a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption in all its forms: bribes, facilitation payments, gifts or undue advantages. No payment is due outside the published tariff schedules and the company’s official invoices. Any employee or third party solicited for an unofficial payment is urged to report it immediately. Breaches expose those responsible to disciplinary action and prosecution.

Whistleblowing channel

Anyone — employee, customer, supplier or third party — may report an ethics breach in good faith and in confidence. Reports are handled by the Legal Department, with whistleblowers protected against any form of retaliation.

Regulatory compliance

On the security side, the terminal is pursuing compliance with the ISPS Code [TO BE CONFIRMED] and is targeting ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certification by 2027 [TO BE CONFIRMED].
