Mooring, unmooring and call coordination at berths 5, 6 and 7 of the concession, in liaison with the ship’s agent and the port authorities.
The efficiency of a port call is decided in its preparation. At berths 5, 6 and 7 of the Port of Matadi, MCTC carries out vessel mooring and unmooring operations, in coordination with pilotage and the port authorities, whose prerogatives remain unchanged.
MCTC’s mooring teams attend berthing and departure, day and night [TO BE CONFIRMED], under the safety rules applicable to work on mooring lines: minimum crew levels, protective equipment, permanent communication with the bridge. The Congo River imposes its own constraints — current, water-level variations — which are factored into every manoeuvre.
Beyond line handling, MCTC coordinates the call as a whole: berth confirmation, exchange of arrival information with the ship’s agent, synchronisation between the end of the manoeuvre and the start of commercial operations. The objective: not one hour lost between the vessel being made fast and the first crane move.
Vessel services are charged in accordance with the “shipping lines” tariff schedule in force. Services not provided by MCTC (pilotage, towage, bunkering and supplies) fall to the competent operators, with whom our teams act as the interface [TO BE CONFIRMED].
